Ealing 0 - London Irish B's 14

Ealing Evergreens were the latest side to be put to the sword by the marauding London Irish Bs.
Some players who hadn't started the recent league games were given the chance to shine against a team in the league above the Bs.

Playing into gale in the first half, the visitors quickly gained forward dominance. A succession of scrums won against the head kept the home side on the back foot culminating in Scott Robinson crashing over for his weekly try near the corner. The conversion into what had now become a Force 4 was a formality! The Bs went into half time leading 7-0.

The second half saw the Bs take up residence in Ealings 22. Only sporadic breakouts by the home side gave them breathing space and it was no surprise when centre Karl Becker made a scintillating break, fed Frank Walsh who then put Dean Guidera in at the corner. The extras into the breeze were again added and to rub salt into the Ealing wounds, were executed by means of a drop kick.

A fine performance, especially by the starting XV who took Ealing on up front and didn't flinch in their commitment. The front rows for the day, Tony Corish, Brian Harris, Mickey Anderson and Matt Ratana, got underneath the opposition at every scrum, setting up a super platform for the pack.

Man of the Match went to Peter Obelensky of the Mullingar Obelenskys, who put in a great display in the back row and made good ground with ball in hand.

Next weekend the B’s welcome Esher to Sunbury for a Friday night game kick off at 19.30
